Ferris Wheels

Each time the wheels spun,

round and round,

up then down,

I wished I was up against the sky,

Not looking down,

Nor staring far,

But trailing the blues skies,

with my childlike mind.

Just as Serena’s train journeyed, her thoughts wandered to the man who had written her a letter, her need to meet him mounting as the snow-coated her resolve.

There were so many questions running through my mind at that moment. I realized that the answers to every one of them lay in Siella. 

Outside, the snow continued falling briskly. 

Branches looked like projections of stalactites – like that of those formed inside caves. Mountain peaks at a distance were thickly coated and looked like part of the sky, white of snow against white of the sky. 

Though the weather, damp, and the sky bleak, what fell out of the clouds were beautiful snow carvings.
