The Indulgence

“What does it mean to indulge in something?” he asked, while the obvious stared at him.

She thought for a moment before replying, “Love is an indulgence. To fall in love its tree filled with passion, and strong emotions coined together with attraction.

Dancing is an indulgence, that exhilarating freedom of moving which releases the audacity of being confined.

And, so is singing, like the larks with not a care if the world is still asleep in the wee hours of the morning.

Sometimes, when the obvious stares at you, and you are ignorant of its beauty, that is an indulgence in which you choose not to ignore.

That’s indulgence! Have I said it all clearly?” She walks away into the mist, the dew drops on petals clinging to leaves, the hours as magical as any would conceive.

“So then, I shall love, dance and sing and lean not into the art of ignorance.” said he, so happy with the answer.
