I hear the tides call out to me,
somedays that take me back to my younger days,
when, I sat looking out to the sea,
my heart on those tides, I wished if only I could be as free.
They were beautiful summer days,
And, somedays when it drizzled, I could swear it was the tides that splashed so free,
upon my form, for I loved the beautiful breeze, that carried it far from the seas to me.
There was not a day when I didn’t wish for the day to end,
As I sat waiting for the tides to come to me,
But then, the flights of the seagulls brought on the sun set,
And I knew it was time for the tides to rest,
to highlight a setting not to be missed.
I wished to fly on the wings of those seagulls to reach another place where the tides remained as free.
